#YourStoryIndia Contest for Budding Indian Writers

Twitter India has partenered with UN’s Global Education Platform (@educationenvoy), and Wattpad.com (@Wattpad) to bring a grand opportunity for India’s budding writers. The initiative is called #YourStoryIndia. The opportunity is only for writers between the age group of 13-25 years.YourStoryIndia competition

Talking about this initiative, Rishi Jaitly, VP-Media, Asia-Pacific, Middle East & North Africa, and Member of the UN GEP Advisory Taskforce said, “This is a great opportunity for young, budding storytellers from across India to develop their talent and share it with the country. Being able to express yourself is an ideal central to Twitter’s philosophy and we’re proud to be affiliated with this initiative. We’re grateful to partner with the Jaipur Literature Festival to bring these young writers to meet some of the world’s best literary talent.”

#YourStoryIndia is inviting Indian between 13 to 25 years of age to send their fictional or non-fictional content belonging to the genres of adventure, paranormal, chick lit, poetry, romance, fantasy, sci-fi, a short story, historical or teen fiction, spiritual, horror, teen humor, mystery, thriller. Yes, even vampires or werewolf stories are welcome. There’s no word limit either. You can send in your stories and articles with any word count. The languages allowed are English, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, Urdu, Tamil, Gujarati, Oriya, Punjabi, Assamese.

The entires will be judged by an experienced jury from Wattpad.com. Five winners are to be selected. All these five winners will get the chance to create history by being named as the first-ever group of Twitter. That is,  #YourStoryIndia Fellows.

#YourStoryIndia Fellows will also have the opportunity to attend the Zee Jaipur Literature Festival (@JaipurLitFest) that is to be held between 21st to 25th January 2016.

The Rules:

  1. Only Indian citizens, residing in India and between the age of 13 to 25 years are eligible to participate.
  2. The story must be shared via Wattpad.com before 31st December 2015, IST.
  3. You must Tweet the Wattpad link of the story to @YourStoryIndia , using the hashtag #YourStoryIndia.
  4. You can submit as many stories as you want.
  5. The popularity of stories on Twitter would be a judgement criteria. So Retweets and Likes of story links matter.
